RoDrift Arena Summer RaceFest - adrenaline-packed international drifting competition taking place this weekend in Bucharest
The park surrounding Bucharest's National Arena will become this weekend the venue for Arena Summer RaceFest, a competition that will see 80 drivers from 6 countries take the start in the four divisions of the National Drift Championship, the organizers said in a release.
'There will be three adrenaline-packed days, with more than 40,000 of combined horsepower putting on a show during the fourth round of the Pro and Semi Pro championship, as well as in the season finals in the Street Open and Drift Kids categories. In the latter division, at just 10 years old, Alexis Stan is a big favorite and could become the youngest national champion in the history of this discipline in Romania. In addition to the scheduled, eagerly awaited battles, there will also be drifting shows, car exhibitions, relaxation and entertainment areas, which will transform the event into a true festival dedicated to motorsport and thrill-seekers,' the cited source said.
Organized by drifting club RoDrift, the event brings together 80 drivers from 6 countries. The fight for the crown between Ukrainian Roman Zelinsky and Brasov-born Gabi Imre Jr. is one of the most anticipated duels for Romanian motorsport enthusiasts.
The event starts on Friday, August 8, with closed-door training sessions, accessible only to those who have purchased the Drift Experience package. From 6:00 p.m., the gates open to the general public for an official presentation of the drivers and a Meet & Greet session, during which fans will be able to interact with the racers.
On August 9 and 10, public access will be allowed between 9:00 and 19:00, and tickets are available both online on the rodrift.ro platform and at the entrance to the National Arena. Entry is free for children up to 10 years old, provided that they are accompanied by an adult. AGERPRES (RO - writing by: Adrian Tone; EN - writing by: Simona Klodnischi)
