PresidentialElection2025/AEP: Voter turnout by 8 a.m. stands at 4.01%

By 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, during the first round of the presidential election, 721,604 voters had cast their ballots, representing 4.01% of those registered in the electoral rolls, according to real-time data provided by the Permanent Electoral Authority (AEP).
In urban areas, 174,525 voters cast their ballots, while in rural areas, the number was 143,175.
A total of 46 voters cast their ballots using a mobile ballot box.
Of the 721,604 voters who had voted by 8:00 a.m., 317,700 voted inside Romania, representing 1.77%, while 403,904 voted abroad. Of these, 399,798 voted on supplementary lists, and 4,106 voted by mail. Voting in the diaspora began on Friday (at 7:00 a.m. local time) and continues until Sunday at 9:00 p.m. (Romanian time).
In Bucharest, voter turnout was 1.79%, with the breakdown by sectors as follows:
