PresidentialElection2025/George Simion and Calin Georgescu vote together: I voted for the Romanian people
Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR) Chairman George Simion voted on Sunday at a polling station in Mogosoaia, accompanied by former candidate Calin Georgescu.
'Christ is Risen! I voted with Calin Georgescu. We are here with one mission - a return to constitutional order, a return to democracy. I have no other goal than first place, for the Romanian people whom I serve. We are here with the people and for the Romanian people, with one desire - to bring justice to Romania,' said George Simion, the AUR candidate in the presidential elections.
Calin Georgescu said that by showing up to vote, he was not legitimising a fraud but rather acknowledging the power of democracy.
'I am not here to recognise a fraud such as these elections - a fraud orchestrated by those who made deceit the only state policy. But I am here to acknowledge the power of democracy, the power of the vote that frightens the system, that terrifies the system. I am here for the interests of the Romanian people, for their dignity, for their greatness, for their nobility, because the destiny and rights of the Romanian nation are eternal. Romania has awakened, and our courage - the courage of our people - is awakened consciousness. That is why the time has come to take our country back and, surely, to reclaim the second round as well. Lift up your hearts and you will be free! Only with God we'll move forward!,' said Georgescu.
