PresidentialElection2025/Elena Lasconi:I voted with hope and belief that Romanians can finally reset system

Save Romania Union (USR) presidential candidate Elena Lasconi said that she voted 'with hope and faith' that Romanians now 'finally have the opportunity to reset the system,' and that 'no woman who dares to defend herself or speak out will be labeled hysterical,' emphasising her belief that justice will prevail.

'I voted with the thought and belief that those within the system will no longer make our plans, with the hope and belief that Romanians finally have the chance to reset the system, that in this country we won't have children going to bed hungry, and with the belief that no woman who has the courage to defend herself or speak clearly will be labeled as hysterical. I voted with the belief that the good-hearted people of this country will see that thieves and the corrupt will end up in prison and will pay back everything they stole from the pockets of Romanians,' Lasconi said, after casting her vote on Sunday at the Mihai Bravu Technical College polling station.

She added that she voted 'believing that today, justice will be done,' and said that she has the courage to pursue that justice.

'I voted with the belief that the families of those who still have no answers, of those who died in the Revolution will finally get justice,' Lasconi added.

She expressed her wish for Romanians to give her the chance to take first place.

'Let's give the system a slap in the face, to those who always tell us who to vote for, or say it would be more useful to vote for someone else. Let's vote correctly,' said Elena Lasconi. AGERPRES (RO - writing by: Alina Novaceanu; EN - writing by: Adina Panaitescu)
