Table tennis: Bernadette Szocs wins silver in women's doubles at World Table Tennis Championships in Doha
Romanian table tennis player Bernadette Szocs won the silver medal, alongside Sofia Polcanova of Austria, in the women's doubles final at the World Table Tennis Championships in Doha, Qatar, on Sunday, according to the Romanian Table Tennis Federation's Facebook page.
The European vice-champions were defeated by Chinese pair Manyu Wang / Man Kuai with a score of 3-0 (11-6, 11-6, 11-5). The Chinese duo had previously outrun the Romanian-Spanish pair Adina Diaconu / Maria Xiao in the quarterfinals.
Romania had not won a medal at the World Championships since 2019, when Ovidiu Ionescu and Alvaro Robles of Spain claimed silver in men's doubles.
