Nicusor Dan takes office as president of Romania at Cotroceni Presidential Palace
Nicusor Dan took office as president of Romania on Monday at the Cotroceni Presidential Palace.
He arrived on Monday at the Cotroceni Presidential Palace, after the solemn session at the Palace of Parliament, where he was sworn in. The guard of honor saluted the newly-elected president during a military ceremony on the Marinescu Plateau.
He was received with standing ovations by those present at the military ceremony. Among the guests were Alfred Simonis, Ludovic Orban, Vlad Gheorghe, Tanczos Barna, Catalin Predoiu. Nicusor Dan's daughter was also present at the event.
Afterwards, Nicusor Dan was welcomed in the lobby of the Cotroceni Presidential Palace by Ilie Bolojan - interim president since February 12, after Klaus Iohannis resigned from office.
The two had a brief discussion.
