PresidentialElection2025/AEP: Approximately 560,000 voters cast ballots abroad by 1:00 PM on Sunday
Approximately 560,000 voters had cast their ballots abroad by 1:00 PM on Sunday, during the first round of the presidential election, according to real-time data provided by the Permanent Electoral Authority (AEP).
According to the AEP, since the opening of the polls, which began Friday at 7:00 AM (local time), 559,727 Romanian citizens have turned out to vote abroad.
Additionally, 4,106 voters cast their ballots by mail, bringing the total number of votes from abroad to 563,833.
The highest voter turnout was registered in the following countries: Italy - 106,839, Germany - 88,474, the United Kingdom - 80,611, Spain - 68,539 and France - 27,741.
Turnout in other countries was as follows: Austria - 17,197, United States - 8,400, Canada - 6,062.

Voting in the diaspora for the presidential election takes place over three days: from Friday at 7:00 AM (local time) until Sunday at 9:00 PM (Romania's time).
