Polish ambassador Soloch promises to support twinning of Brasov with Krakow

Image

Brasov mayor George Scripcaru on Monday discussed with the Polish ambassador to Romania, Pawel Soloch, about the possibility of twinning Brasov with Krakow.

'The Polish official came to Brasov at the invitation of mayor George Scripcaru, to participate in the Brasov Days (an event that took place over the weekend - editor's note). In this context, the ambassador, who is visiting our city for the first time, said he was particularly pleased to have had the opportunity to participate in the events and get to know Brasov during a defining tradition for the city's identity, especially since he not only witnessed the parade, but also took part, together with his wife, in the traditions of the youth groups at Pietrele lui Solomon. In addition, His Excellency stated that Brasov is increasingly known in Poland, and the number of Polish tourists visiting Brasov is increasing significantly from year to year, something observable both on the street and through the number of Poles who pass by the honorary consulate opened in Brasov,' according to a press release sent on Monday to Agerpres by the Brasov City Hall.

According to the same source, the Polish official 'declared his direct support' for the twinning project between Brasov and Krakow, 'especially since, in his opinion, both cities have a lot in common, including the fact that they are twinned cities with Nuremberg.'
