Romanian-Ukrainian cooperation agreement in field of digitization and cyber security, projects benefit from EU funding
Representatives of Romania and Ukraine have signed an agreement aimed at developing relations in the field of digitization and cyber security, thus laying the foundations for a mechanism through which the European Union will finance technology and knowledge transfer projects to Ukraine, projects in which Romania will be the partnership leader, informs the Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digitization.
The agreement on the development of electronic communications and cooperation in the fields of digitization and cyber protection was signed by the Romanian Minister of Research, Innovation and Digitization, Bogdan Ivan, and the Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister for Innovation, Education, Science and Technology Development, Mykhailo Fedorov.
"Through the Agreement signed with the Ukrainian counterpart, Romania reinforces its position as a regional hub for emerging technologies and cyber security. We are thus laying the foundations for a mechanism through which the European Union will finance concrete technology and knowledge transfer projects to Ukraine, projects in which Romania will be a leading partner," said Bogdan Ivan.
According to the ministry, the agreement provides "the foundation for close and concrete cooperation" between the institutions responsible for the two countries' IT&C infrastructure, digitization and cyber security. Increasing resilience and protecting the digital infrastructure in Ukraine and Romania, strengthening the level of cyber protection of the national networks and infrastructures of Ukraine and Romania, developing the cloud infrastructure for electronic public services, exchanging experience in policy formation in the field of electronic communications and emerging technologies are the main lines of action.AGERPRES(RO - author: Irinela Visan, editor: Mihai Simionescu; EN - author: Simona Iacob, editor: Cristina Zaharia)
