Victor Negrescu: EU's chief negotiator for Brexit to visit Romania in near future

The European Union's chief negotiator for Brexit, Michel Barnier, will visit Romania in the near future, Minister-delegate for European Affairs Victor Negrescu announced on Tuesday.
"I am glad to inform you that Michel Barnier will visit Romania in the near future in order to strengthen the cooperation and increase the quality of our country's contribution to the consolidation of the European Union," Victor Negrescu has written on Facebook.
At the same time, Victor Negrescu said that he had a meeting with Michel Barnier in Strasbourg on Tuesday.
"Our priority is to protect the rights of the Romanians living, working or studying today in the UK. We will remain, including from the perspective of Romania's responsibility as the future Presidency of the Council of the European Union, in permanent contact with Michel Barnier and the negotiating team of the European Commission, to make sure that the next rounds of negotiations will record developments reflecting the interests of both Romanians and all other member states," Negrescu has written.
