Romania promoting its tourism offer at the TTG Travel Experience fair in Italy
Romania is being promoted as a tourist destination at the 63rd edition of the TTG Travel Experience international fair, held in Rimini, Italy, between October 14-16, 2026, the country's Ministry of Economy, Digitalisation, Entrepreneurship and Tourism (MEDAT) announced on Thursday.
Together with 17 co-exhibitors from the tourism, hospitality and destination promotion industry, the ministry aims to attract Italian tourists and develop business partnerships.
Italy is one of the main source markets for Romanian tourism. In the first eight months of 2026, Italy ranked second in the ranking of tourist-sending countries, a position it also occupied in 2023-2025.
In this context, MEDAT is promoting cultural circuits, rural and nature tourism, city breaks, active and adventure tourism, as well as spa and wellness tourism.
'The offer corresponds to the interests of Italian tourists, who appreciate the diversity of holiday experiences, gastronomy and oenology. They are looking for quality services at affordable prices, and those who have already visited Romania are interested in discovering other areas of the country,' the ministry representatives say in the release.
The national stand, covering 96 sqm, is located right at the entrance to pavilion C7, in a position of high visibility. It brings together 17 co-exhibitors: 11 tourism and hospitality companies, namely Absolute Guides, AVA Top Travel, Eastern European Experience, Karpaten, Explorer-Romania, Radisson Blu Hotel Bucharest, Romania for You, Rotours, Romania for All, World Synergy Travel and World Travel Group, and six partners that promote the resorts of Baile Felix and Baile 1 Mai, the counties of Bacau, Prahova, Sibiu and Suceava, as well as Tinutul Vrancei.
According to MEDAT, the tourist offer aggregates destinations and experiences from several regions of the country.
Thus, the Suceava County Council promotes the incoming programme 'Come to Bucovina', with proposals for cultural tourism, traditions and customs of Christmas and hiking, while Bacau County presents its destinations and tourist products through the County Public Service for the Promotion of Tourism and the Coordination of the Mountain Rescue Activity. In Sibiu, the offer of the County Tourism Association promotes UNESCO Bus tours to the fortresses of Transylvania, ecotourism packages, the 'Hiking Years' programme, routes on Via Transilvanica - Terra Saxonum, cultural itineraries, such as the route of fortified churches and that of transhumance, as well as gastronomic experiences.
The Association for the Promotion and Development of Tourism Prahova presents the attractions of the county through information materials and an interactive map, and the spa offer of the Baile Felix and Baile 1 Mai resorts is promoted under the name 'Felix Garden', with emphasis on the therapeutic properties of the thermal water and on the relaxation and wellness services available throughout the year. At the same time, the Destination Management Organisation Tinutul Vrancei highlights the potential of tourism in nature and of the area, which has approximately 325 kilometres of mountain and hiking trails.
To Romanian tour operators, participation in the fair offers the opportunity to present tourism products and services to potential international partners, to initiate commercial discussions and to identify collaboration opportunities for the development of incoming tourism.
In order to identify potential partners and schedule business meetings, the Romanian participants used the event's online platform.
