Romanian language courses for foreigners to begin in Bucharest and at Romanian Cultural Institute representations abroad

Image

The Romanian Cultural Institute (ICR) on Monday launched a new edition of its Romanian language courses for foreigners, to be held in Bucharest throughout 2026.

According to a press release from the ICR Press Office sent to AGERPRES, the courses organised in the capital will begin at the same time as the 2026 sessions of Romanian language courses run by ICR Tel Aviv and by the ICR representation in Poland, both in Warsaw and Lodz, in a lectureship format, in cooperation with the Institute of Romance Languages within the university's Faculty of Philology.

ICR representations in Brussels, Lisbon, Paris, Prague, Tokyo and Berlin will also launch new sessions of Romanian language courses in the coming period.

In Bucharest, this year's course structure includes three sessions: the first will run from February to April, the second from April to July, and the third from September to November.

Registration for each session takes place prior to the start of the courses, during dedicated enrolment periods. The participation fee for each course module, regardless of the chosen format, is RON 1,000.

Detailed information on how to enrol in the Romanian language courses for foreigners organised by ICR in Bucharest is available on www.icr.ro, in the COURSES section.

Launched in 2008, the programme 'ROMAN(I)A PE SCURT (ROMANIA(N) IN A NUTSHELL) - Romanian Language Courses for Foreigners' is one of the ICR's permanent projects, having seen steady development over time in terms of content quality, diversity and teaching methods.

The ICR currently organises more than 50 course sessions each year in Bucharest and across 18 representations abroad, both for foreigners and for children from Romanian communities. It also organises annually the Brasov Summer School - Romanian Language, Culture and Civilisation Courses. AGERPRES (RO - writing by: Daniel Popescu; EN - writing by: Simona Iacob)
