Romania's COVID-19 weekly case count, up 3,386
The Ministry of Health informs that the week between December 12 and 18, 3,386 new cases of people infected with SARS-CoV-2 were registered.
A number of 919 of the cases registered were in reinfected patients, who tested positive more than 90 days after the first infection.
Until now, 3,305,048 cases of infection with SARS-CoV-2 have been registered in Romania, with the incidence recorded at 14 days being 0.21.
In the past week, 13,210 RT-PCR tests and 61,455 rapid antigen tests were performed.
Up to this date, there have been 13,667,246 RT-PCR tests and 12,292,320 rapid antigenic tests processed nationwide.
- Hospitalisations -
A number of 835 people with COVID-19 are hospitalised in special health units.
104 patients are treated in ICUs, of whom 96 are not vaccinated against COVID.
Out of the total number of hospitalised patients, 47 are minors, one of whom is in the ICU.
- Deaths -
Between December 12 and 18, 31 deaths (17 men and 14 women) were reported.
One death was registered in the 30-39 age category, six in the 60-69 year category, 10 in the 70-79 age category and 14 in the over 80 age category.
All the deceased patients had comorbidities.
Among the deceased patients, eight had been vaccinated.
