All Deva Inventcor Academy projects, awarded at Guangzhou International Exhibition of Inventions
All six inventions and programmes of the Deva Inventcor Academy, that have been presented at the International Exhibition of Inventions in Guangzhou (China), were awarded by the exhibition jury, the team coordinated by inventor Corneliu Birtok Baneasa having managed to win two gold medals, two silver and two bronze medals.
The competition gathered over 3,700 inventions and projects from 35 countries, presented on a 20,000 metre exhibition area, with over one visitors registered, the inventor from Deva told AGERPRES on Tuesday.
Among the inventions awarded the gold medal there is an air disinfection and purifying device in inclosed spaces, with multiple practical functions.
'The air purifying and disinfection device is an invention patent jointly developed with my colleague Ion Munteanu from the State University of Moldova. This device represents an advanced solution for indoor air disinfection and purifying, based on optimised UV technology. The invention ensures the efficient destruction of pathogens - such as bacteria, viruses, mold or microbs - directly in the recirculated airflow, thus guaranteeing a sterile and safe environment without any dangerous chemical debris,' Birtok Baneasa detailed.
He explained the device can be used in the healthcare area, such as operating rooms, intensive care, medical offices and waiting rooms. Moreover, it can provide protection in classrooms, amphitheatres, or the food industry.
The jury also granted the gold medal to a study on 1.9 TDI engine evolution, carried out by student Stefan Ionut Nicola within a student research programme, a technical analysis of the famous 1.9 engine, presenting the engineering and optimisation solutions that made it one of the most viable engines in the automotive industry, says the inventor from Deva.
An educational programme developed by three pupils of Avram Iancu High School in Brad - Mihaela Lachescu, Bogdan-Mihai Stefan and Andrei-Ionut Benea, as well as a study carried out by pupil Ana Maria Iordache from Decebal National College in Deva, on the manner of increasing iodine in food, was awarded the silver medal.
'Architects of Innovation' educational programme carried out by Erika Kollmann and Corneliu Birtok Baneasa as well as a project made by pupil Sebastian Rotea entailing a recycled material built model aircraft received bronze medals.
The Deva Inventcor Academy is a platform dedicated to STEAM non-formal education, combining science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics in an interdisciplinary approach, their coordinator explained.
