Bucharest Tech Week to feature international speakers, first Romanian AI artist performance
The anniversary edition of Bucharest Tech Week opens its doors on Thursday, 11 June, bringing together two complementary formats over the course of nine days: Tech Expo for the general public and Business Summits for industry professionals.
According to a press release from organiser Universum Expo, the 10th edition will feature more than 50 local and international speakers across five Business Summits, with a programme centred on the practical application of technology within organisations. Among the highlights of this year's edition is the first live concert in the history of a Romanian AI-generated artist.
'For us, the 10th edition is more than an anniversary milestone. It confirms that a business and technology platform remains relevant when it evolves alongside the industry it serves. Bucharest Tech Week 2026 brings together experts who do not speak about the future in theoretical terms, but practitioners with tangible results in real organisations. This year's programme is built around the real pressures faced daily by business teams, from strategy and leadership to software architecture and HR. This is the kind of know-how we seek and deliver to the community year after year,' said Alexandru Maxineanu, Managing Partner of Universum Expo, as quoted in the statement.
Innovation Summit, taking place on 15 June, will feature Lars Silberbauer, an Emmy Award winner and one of the world's most influential leaders in marketing and brand transformation. His session, Do What Feels Right. Not What Feels Safe, will explore how brands maintain cultural relevance in an environment shaped by rapid change and constantly evolving consumer behaviour.
Also appearing on 15 June will be Dani Rayner, former Director of Marketing Planning and Operations at Netflix, who has extensive experience leading marketing strategies for some of the most influential organisations in the entertainment industry. In his presentation, Building Brands in the Age of Algorithms, he will examine the challenges of brand differentiation in a landscape dominated by AI, automation and an ever-growing volume of digital content.
At Future Summit: AI on 16 June, Elaine Barsoom, founder of Waveco.ai and former Global Head of AI/Tech Innovation Partnerships at Nike, will explore the shift from experimentation to intentionality in AI adoption. Her keynote, The GenAI Innovation Wave: Designing the Age of Co-Intelligence, examines how organisations can build an authentic and effective relationship between people and artificial intelligence.
Innovation Summit will also feature a special moment: the first live concert by Lolita Cercel, Romania's first artist created entirely using artificial intelligence. Introduced earlier this year, Lolita Cercel amassed millions of views on TikTok and streaming platforms within weeks, quickly becoming a cultural phenomenon and sparking debate about the future of music in the AI era. She will now appear on stage for the first time in a format designed specifically for the occasion. Lolita will be presented on a high-resolution screen, performing a selection of the songs that made her viral, accompanied live by a trio of musicians in a jazz-influenced arrangement.
Tech Expo, the technology festival integrated into the Bucharest Tech Week ecosystem, is expanding its scope through a partnership with nZEB Expo, Romania's largest event dedicated to energy-efficient construction (11-14 June, Romexpo, Pavilion B2).
Tech Expo brings together the latest mobility and home technologies in a format designed for direct interaction. AGERPRES (RO - writing by: Nicoleta Gherasi; EN - writing by: Adina Panaitescu)
