Banca Transilvania becomes the second most valuable Romanian brand, after Dacia
Banca Transilvania has risen from third to second place in the ranking of the most valuable Romanian brands, following an increase in its brand value to 876 million euros.
According to a press release issued by the bank, the Brand Finance Romania 50 2026 evaluation was carried out by Brand Finance, the UK-based global leader in brand valuation.
'This performance is matched by top European recognition: BT is the strongest Romanian brand, as well as the strongest banking brand in Europe in 2026, with a Brand Strength Index (BSI) score of 92.9 out of 100 and an elite AAA+ brand rating, according to Brand Finance Banking 500 2026, published in March 2026,' the press release said.
Brand value refers to the net economic benefit that licensing the brand on the open market would generate. It is an indicator of the brand's commercial contribution to the company's overall performance.
At the same time, brand strength measures the solidity, trustworthiness and differentiation of a brand in relation to competitors, based on indicators such as reputation, loyalty and public perception.

The total value of the top 50 Romanian brands reached 7.4 billion euros in 2026. The top five brands - Dacia, Banca Transilvania, DIGI, eMAG and Dedeman - account for more than 54% of the total value.
