The National Sanitary, Veterinary and Food Safety Authority (ANSVSA), in partnership with the District 1 City hall, is organizing between 8 and 10 May, at Casa Presei Libere (House of the Free Press), the largest fair of domestic producers called 'Safe and Tasty' ('Sigur si Gustos').

Over three days, more than 70 food artisans will showcase an impressive variety of Romanian products, from brands recognized at European level to organic and artisanal delicacies.

According to the ANSVSA release sent to AGERPRES on Thursday, the event takes place within the Sfe2Eat European campaign, carried out by the institution in partnership with the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA).

Held in the context of Europe Day (9 May), the fair highlights the success of cooperation between Romania and the European Union in the public health area.

Through this partnership with the EFSA, the ANSVSA demonstrates that Romania has one of the most effective food safety systems in the EU, offering consumers the assurance that traditional products comply with the strictest European standards.

'Romania organically joins the European Safe2Eat 2026 campaign because we promote an integrated and efficient system for guaranteeing food safety at the national level and we are appreciated for this, of course alongside a particularly tasty gastronomic heritage. From this balance, perhaps unique in the EU, comes the essence of the 'Safe and Tasty' campaign. On Europe Day, we invite citizens to consume Romanian, trusting in an elite food safety system. On Europe Day, we invite citizens to consume Romanian, benefiting from the protection of a rigorous food safety system,' ANSVSA President Alexandru Bociu said, as quoted in the release.

The Safe2Eat 2026 campaign reflects the joint commitment of the ANSVSA and the EFSA to ensure citizens have access to safe food.

The ANSVSA representatives mentioned that this event shows how European safety standards combine with local traditions to protect the modern consumer. AGERPRES (RO - writing by: Mariana Nica; EN - writing by: Rodica State)
