Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan said on Wednesday, on TVR national television station, when asked about the possibility of a new group emerging in Parliament to support a minority Government, that he does not rule this out, underscoring that 'it is certain that many MPs who entered on various lists are beginning to understand Romania's problems.'

'Of course, many MPs who entered on various lists are beginning to understand Romania's problems and what can truly be done in the future. Throughout this period, I have tried not to create expectations that cannot be met, to tell Romanians what path we have to take, to follow, in order to put things right, and just as when a family faces difficulties it must make certain efforts to move forward, that is what we must do as well,' the prime minister said.

Ilie Bolojan was also asked whether these MPs could group into a parliamentary force to support or join a minority Government, a solution along the lines of the National Union for Romania's Progress (UNPR).

'It is possible that this could happen as well, but I cannot, as I said, make predictions as to what a number of MPs will do in one direction or another, however, at some point, consider that when you have coalitions of three or four parties, as we must have, it is generally not very easy either to manage the coalition or to take decisions. And regarding a certain rigidity I am accused of, consider that if I had not been sufficiently flexible, it would have been very difficult to bring four parties plus the minorities' group to share the same idea that leads to results and action, because very often parties pull in different directions and a coalition risks cancelling out any kind of action, and then it is no longer justified for it to be a coalition,' the head of Government added.
