President Dan: In these turbulent times, we must be more united in promoting national interests
The moral strength of war veterans is a benchmark which brings us to mind that what unites us as a people matters more than any passing crisis, and in these turbulent times we must be more united in promoting national interests and values, President NicuSor Dan said on Wednesday in a message on the Day of War Veterans.
'Our thoughts of respect and gratitude go today to Romania's war veterans, symbols of sacrifice and devotion to the achievement of national ideals. The development of modern Romania within the European and Euro-Atlantic family, ensuring a free and democratic society with a functioning rule of law, would not have been possible without the courage and strength of character of those who placed the nation's interest above their own lives. The moral strength of our war veterans is a benchmark which brings us to mind that what unites us as a people matters more than any passing crisis. We can draw inspiration from their example to find the energy and confidence to build the prosperous future of our country,' reads the President's message.
In these turbulent times, President Dan says, we must be more united and more determined in promoting national interests and values, while war veterans stand as an example of patriotism and loyalty.
'We have a duty to protect, with responsibility, the security and freedom of our nation for future generations. Currently, we are confronted with multiple difficulties, from the effects of the Russian Federation's war of aggression against Ukraine to those generated by the crisis in the Middle East, challenges that we will overcome alongside our partners in the European Union and our NATO allies. Solidarity and cohesion remain the foundation for the sustainable economic development of Romania, for strengthening the rule of law and for educating young people in the spirit of observing the traditions and principles which bring us closer together. In these turbulent times, we must be more united and more determined in promoting national interests and values, and the war veterans stand as an example of patriotism and loyalty. Happy birthday, dear war veterans! Many happy returns, Romania!,' President Nicusor Dan concluded. AGERPRES (RO - writing by: Georgiana Tanasescu; EN - writing by: Rodica State)
