At its annual congress in Berlin, the German Travel Association (DRV) awarded its prestigious EcoTrophea 2025 prize to the Via Transilvanica long-distance hiking trail project, Tasuleasa Social announced on Friday on its social media page.

'We received this international distinction for environmental protection and social responsibility, as the EcoTrophea, awarded by DRV since 1987, focused this year on the theme of biodiversity in tourism. Our colleagues Anna Szekely and Iulia-Alexandra Muresan represented Via Transilvanica in Berlin, with deep emotion and gratitude toward the esteemed jury members chaired by Prof. Dr. Harald Zeiss, President of the DRV Sustainability Committee, who had words of praise for our project and for Romania. We were surprised and honored by the presence of Her Excellency, Adriana-Loreta Stanescu, the Ambassador of Romania to the Federal Republic of Germany, who joined our colleagues on stage and expressed her support for Via Transilvanica. As we often say, Via Transilvanica is building bridges across borders, and recognitions like this are a clear sign that we are on the right path!,' the association's message states.

Via Transilvanica - 'The Road that Unites' - is a project initiated in 2018 by the Tasuleasa Social Association from Bistrita-Nasaud County, consisting of a 1,400-kilometre long hiking trail that crosses Romania diagonally from the northern Putna to the south-western Drobeta - Turnu Severin.
