RADR/President Dan: Romania does not currently have a real strategy for Romanians in the diaspora
Romania currently does not have a 'real' strategy for Romanians living abroad, President Nicusor Dan said on Tuesday during a meeting at Cotroceni Palace with the heads of diplomatic missions, consular offices and directors of Romanian cultural institutes.
He emphasised that Romanians in the diaspora must be a priority.
'Once again, I shall say it directly - Romania does not currently have a real strategy for Romanians in the diaspora. Romania lacks a comprehensive study on the needs of these people. And this is something that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Presidency, with your input, must work on, so that we have a strategy with objectives, budgets and implementation deadlines. Going forward, it will be your task to ensure that the partnership with Romanians who have chosen to live abroad, temporarily or permanently, becomes more effective than it is today,' the head of state said.
