Swimming Complex in Targoviste to be further developed with Swiss funds

The Swimming Complex in Targoviste will be modernised with funds granted under the Swiss-Romanian Cooperation Programme, with energy efficiency works to be carried out in the first stage, the mayor of the city, Daniel Cristian Stan, informs on Tuesday.
'Earlier this week, we were informed that the project entitled 'Modernisation and Energy Efficiency of the Swimming Pool within the Targoviste Swimming Complex' has received the green light for financing. It is a project worth 34,300,001.29 lei, the financing will be accessed by the Targoviste City Hall through the 'Swiss-Romanian Cooperation Programme for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy,' the mayor states in a Facebook post.
According to him, the investment involves: completely abandoning gas-fired boilers, with the heating and cooling of the respective areas to be done exclusively with air-to-water heat pumps; appropriate thermal insulation of the building envelope and replacing the existing joinery on the facades with thermally insulating joinery; solar panels with evacuated tubes for hot water production; replacing the lighting fixtures with new ones with long-life LEDs and reduced consumption; intelligent building management system, which will monitor and streamline energy consumption.
At the same time, the parking lot will be partially covered with a photovoltaic panel installation, with a capacity of 198kW which, which, in addition to producing electricity, will shade 99 parking spaces.
The implementation of the measures will result in a cut of approximately 80% in energy costs.
'In connection with the second stage of modernisation, a new large outdoor pool, several slides and outdoor entertainment areas, an indoor aqua-park area, usable also in winter, but also extended parking lots or new food areas, represent just a few of the landmarks of projects likely to make the Targoviste Swimming Complex a leading holiday destination in Romania, not only in the region! 'The financing of these new interventions will be ensured from European funds, with the support of the South Muntenia Regional Development Agency,' Daniel Cristian Stan also wrote.
