Romania's Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka to host 'COOLsound on Tour' concert series, April 13 to May 11

Romania's Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka will host, from April 13 to May 11, the concert series 'COOLsound on Tour,' a project that highlights young Romanian musicians and opens the series of cultural events that will take place at Romania's Pavilion and on special stages at the Expo, representing Romania at the World Expo in Osaka from April 13 to October 13, according to a press release sent to AGERPRES on Tuesday.
The programme brings together students from the National University of Music in Bucharest, at various academic stages (bachelor's, master's and doctoral levels), who will offer the Japanese audience and visitors a broad perspective on Romanian musical talent.
'Expo 2025 Osaka represents an extraordinary opportunity for the students of the National University of Music in Bucharest to perform in front of participants from all over the world, showcasing the most representative and valuable aspects of the Romanian music school. Our 12 students will present high-level mini-recitals to the visitors of Romania's Pavilion, covering a wide stylistic range, with established repertoires, from classical to jazz and pop, as well as excursions into the folklore and traditional music of Romania. We hope they will be true ambassadors of Romanian culture and art, benefiting from the unique privilege of musical art, the ability to communicate directly, without words, at an emotional and affective level,' Diana Mos, rector of the National University of Music in Bucharest, is quoted in the release as saying.
The event will feature Mihnea-Ioan Stroe (piano), Ioan Banescu (classical guitar), Lucian Albu (flute), Claudia Marinescu (soprano), Horia Radu (bass-baritone), who will perform in various chamber music combinations. The Risoluto String Quartet completes the Romanian programme in Japan with its members: Iulian Balutel (violin I), Anastasia Pasat (violin II), Stefania Cirjaliu (viola) and Ioana Movileanu (cello). The jazz component is represented by Delta Trio, composed of Denisa Troncea (vocals), Alex Misu (guitar) and Luca Ioachimescu (bass guitar).
The artistic programme will include highly popular pieces from the Romanian and universal repertoire, both classical and jazz, which will be presented at Romania's Pavilion every day from April 13 to May 11. AGERPRES (RO - writing by: Petronius Craiu; EN - writing by: Adina Panaitescu)
