The head of Romanian diplomacy will participate, Friday to Sunday, in the 61st edition of the Munich Security Conference (Munich Security Conference/MSC 2025), during which current security threats and challenges in the political, economic, commercial and technological fields will be addressed.

'Among the major themes of the conference are the threats to international security generated by Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine, transatlantic cooperation, European defence, global governance, ongoing crises and conflicts globally. In the thematic sessions of the conference, minister Emil Hurezeanu will present Romania's assessments of current challenges, with an emphasis on the deterioration of the security situation in the Black Sea region and the implications of Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine for the security of the Euro-Atlantic space. The Romanian foreign minister will refer to the need for a just, comprehensive and sustainable peace in Ukraine. At the same time, he will emphasise the danger of the Russian Federation's hybrid actions and the importance of countering these actions,' the MAE stated on Thursday.

According to the same source, on the sidelines of the Conference, the minister of foreign affairs will have bilateral meetings with counterparts and political figures from Europe, North America, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and North Africa and will participate in a series of thematic events associated with MSC 2025.
