Romania ends Nations League participation with 4-1 victory against Cyprus
The Romanian national football team defeated Cyprus 4-1 (2-0) on Monday evening on the National Arena in Bucharest, in their final match of Group C2 in the UEFA Nations League.
The Tricolours secured their fifth victory in the group and, with a slight reserve, were promoted to League B of the competition. Romania is still awaiting UEFA's decision regarding the match against Kosovo in Bucharest, which was abandoned at a 0-0 score in the 90+5 minute after the visitors withdrew from the field.
Daniel Birligea (2), Razvan Marin (42, 80), and Florinel Coman (83) scored for Romania, while Cyprus' goal came from Ioannis Pittas (52).
