Targu Mures university prepares autumn launch of French Medicine syllabus
The George Emil Palade University of Medicine, Pharmacy, Sciences and Technology (UMFST) of Târgu Mures on Monday hosted a meeting with the management of the French Institute in Cluj-Napoca, with a view to launching a French Medicine syllabus starting with the 2026-2027 academic year.
'Amid the development of the Medicine syllabus with French tuition and the consolidation of the French-speaking branch within the university, UMFST hosted a working meeting dedicated to the development of collaboration with the French Institute in Cluj-Napoca. The meeting was attended by Mrs Laurence Levasseur, director of the French Institute in Cluj-Napoca, and Mrs Mihaela Popa, director of courses and exams. Discussions focused on the development of joint projects aimed at supporting the expansion of the French-speaking community and the internationalisation of the university. Opportunities for language improvement, Francophone cultural activities and initiatives designed for students and teachers involved in the new French-speaking sector have been identified,' said Rector Leonard Azamfirei in a social media post.
According to Azamfirei, this collaboration reflects the commitment of the University of Targu Mures to the development of educational and cultural relations in the French-speaking space.
UMFST's French-language Medicine syllabus will be launched for the 2026-2027 academic year, after having been accredited on April 2.
