Mirabela Gradinaru to attend three events at Romanian Creative Week running Oct 2 - 8 in Bucharest
Mirabela Gradinaru, President Nicusor Dan's life partner, will attend three events at the second edition of Romanian Creative Week X Bucharest, which will run October 2-8.
According to a statement from the organisers, Mirabela Gradinaru will attend the central exhibition 'Metafora,' the roundtable meeting 'Creative Romania: Observatory & Laboratory of Creative Ecologies,' and Romanian Fashion Week.
The programme brings together contemporary art, new media, fashion, film, dance and performance, alongside meetings dedicated to the development and international networking of Romania's creative industries.
'The fact that Romanian Creative Week took place this year under the High Patronage of the President of Romania, and that Mirabela Gradinaru has once again chosen to stand alongside artists and the RCW community, has a significance for us that goes beyond the symbolic dimension. It is a form of respect for the work of people who create, research, experiment and carry Romanian culture forward, but also an encouragement for younger generations trying to build a future for themselves here. Romania has an extraordinary creative resource, and culture and the creative industries need recognition, continuity and a genuine relationship with society. Such a presence sends artists the message that their work is seen and that the role of creativity in Romania's development deserves to be taken seriously,' said Irina Schrotter, president of the Creative Industries Employers' Federation and initiator of Romanian Creative Week.
The first event Mirabela Gradinaru will attend is 'Metafora - One Night Only,' on Friday at Scanteia+, a contemporary art venue. The central exhibition of RCW 2026, curated by Marian Palie, creates a journey in which image, space and viewer engage in a constant interplay of perspectives and interpretations. The programme begins with the opening of 'Metafora,' continues with the performance '.aetherium' by Andrei Budescu, and concludes with a DJ set by Charles B.
On October 5, starting at 4:30 p.m., at the Central University Library, Mirabela Gradinaru will attend 'Creative Romania: Observatory & Laboratory of Creative Ecologies,' a roundtable debate hosted by Marlene Herberth.
The third event the Romanian president's partner will attend is the opening night of Romanian Fashion Week, on October 7, at the Romanian Television headquarters. With a history spanning more than a quarter of a century, Romanian Fashion Week returns to Bucharest on October 7 and 8, with two evenings of runway shows and a record number of designers featured in the Romanian Designers and New Wave sections.
The programme brings together established names in Romanian fashion, including Ioana Ciolacu, Maria Marinescu, Lena Criveanu, Irina Schrotter and Tudor Halatiu, alongside emerging designers and their spring-summer 2027 collections.
Romanian Creative Week is organised by the Creative Industries Employers' Federation.
Romanian Creative Week X Bucharest, the autumn edition of the European Union's largest event dedicated to the creative industries, is being held in Bucharest for the second consecutive year, under the High Patronage of the President of Romania.
