The Union of Ukrainians in Romania - Bucharest branch will launch the book 'Heroes Never Die', by Mihai Hafia Traista at the 21st edition of the ProEtnica Intercultural Festival, set to take place in Sighisoara between August 27-31.

The launch of the volume that honours 155 writers and journalists who were killed on the front lines during the war in Ukraine, is scheduled for August 28 at 6:00 p.m., in the Baroque Hall of Sighisoara City Hall, and is part of a broader cultural program that complements the performances of ethnic community ensembles attending the festival.

Another literary event at ProEtnica will be the launch of 'Ritual as Narrative Aesthetic in Parajanov's Cinema', authored by Armine Vosgonian, organized by the Union of Armenians in Romania. The organization will also present 'Double Self-Portrait', a novel by Varujan Vosgonian.

The National Center for Roma Culture - Romano Kher will screen a fiction film about the Roma slavery era, 'Admission Ticket'. Meanwhile, the Union of Armenians will present 'MIUTYUN', a feature-length documentary exploring the history of the Armenian diaspora in Romania.

The ProEtnica Festival is organized by the Interethnic Educational Center for Youth (ibz) Sighisoara. According to the organizers' website, the festival's official poster - emphasizing peace and intercultural dialogue - was selected through a design competition.

The winning entry, created by Mihai Szabo, a visual artist from Bucharest, was praised by the jury for meeting the technical criteria and offering an innovative design that captures the spirit of ProEtnica's mission to promote peace and intercultural understanding.
