The 14-day cumulative incidence rate of COVID-19 cases has reached, on Saturday, 8.28 per thousand inhabitants in the Capital, according to the website of the Bucharest Public Health Directorate (DSP).

One day ago, it was 7.68, one month ago, on September 2, the incidence of COVID-19 in Bucharest was 0.88 per thousand inhabitants, according to the DSP website.

Bucharest Deputy Prefect Antonela Ghita declared that the Bucharest City Committee for Emergency Situations (CMBSU) will be convened after the publication in the Official Journal of the new measures that will be adopted by government decision. She said the new measures will take effect locally on Sunday.

The government is to validate in Saturday's meeting, by decision, the measures adopted on Thursday evening by the National Committee for Special Emergency Situations on the management of the COVID-19 pandemic.

"There are two amendments, the one related to schools and I have said they are to continue with physical attendance [over the incidence rate of 6 per thousand inhabitants -ed.n.] and there will be those non-invasive tests that will be done and the decision will belong with the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education, whether twice a week or once a week. And the other decision is just an amendment, over 6 per thousand we keep the activities as they are, the economic activities, for HoReCa too, and gyms and other activities, but we take out the testing part, so there remains proof of having had the disease or of being vaccinated for access," Prime Minister Florin Citu said on Thursday evening.
