ANM issues warning for torrential showers and storms across country until Thursday evening
The National Meteorological Administration (ANM) issued a weather warning on Wednesday for unstable weather, with torrential showers and strengthening winds, valid across the country until Thursday evening.
According to the specialist forecast, between 13:00 on 2 September and 21:00 on 3 September, there will be periods of atmospheric instability, locally in Moldavia and northern Muntenia, in places in the southern and eastern regions, as well as in mountainous areas.
This will be manifested by moderate amounts of torrential rain, thunderstorms, short-term strengthening of the wind, generally reaching speeds of 40-50 km/h and, in isolated areas, small hail (1-2 cm).
Furthermore, over short periods of time (between one and three hours), rainfall will reach 10-15 l/sq m and, in limited areas, more than 20-30 l/sq m. AGERPRES (RO - writing by: Daniel Badea; EN - writing by: Rodica State)
