The companies BraveX Aero and Romaero will produce in September this year the first aircraft structure for the BraveX-1, one of the company's unmanned platforms now in production, shows a press release sent on Tuesday.

BraveX Aero is also expanding its own production capacity with a new hall that will allow the manufacture of up to seven aircraft per month.

In the fourth quarter of 2026, the two companies will begin preparing production for BraveX-Delta, the new generation of UAV platforms developed by BraveX Aero, gradually expanding the range of aircraft built under the partnership.

The industrial partnership with Romaero is thus entering the production-prep stage. In the first phase, Romaero will be able to add a capacity of up to ten airframes per month on top of what BraveX Aero produces in its own facility. Given the high demand expected, the plan foresees expanding this capacity to 30 airframes per month starting in 2028. This additional capacity will be included in the joint BraveX Aero - Romaero industrial planning. After the operational prep stages are completed, it can be activated within one week of a firm production requirement, to respond to rapid increases in commercial demand or national-security needs.

The necessary moulds will be available for production in Romaero's infrastructure, and Romaero staff will be trained by BraveX Aero throughout 2026 in the processes and requirements specific to the platforms. Quality control for operations carried out at Romaero will be performed by Romaero, including through its NDT (non-destructive testing) capabilities, based on the agreed criteria and technical documentation for the programme.

'Collaboration with BraveX Aero leverages Romaero's infrastructure and expertise in producing and verifying aeronautical airframes. We are preparing an additional capacity of up to ten airframes per month in the first stage, supported by quality-control processes and non-destructive testing. The common goal is for this capacity to be activated quickly, based on clear industrial planning and a well-controlled technology transfer,' said Speranta Munteanu, Romaero Special Administrator.

The hybrid BraveX-1 model combines production in the company's own facilities with an external industrial reserve, prepared in advance and quickly activatable when large-volume orders or defence and national-security requirements arise.

To support this development stage, BraveX Aero is conducting a €4 million funding round, aimed at private-equity investors and investment funds. The capital raised will go toward expanding production, industrialising the new platforms, and strengthening the company's position on the European defence market.

'We are deliberately building a two-level industrial model. Our own capacity gives us direct control over technology, quality and development pace, while collaboration with Romaero allows us to prepare a real industrial reserve ahead of time. In defence and security sectors, the ability to ramp up production quickly must not be improvised when the need appears; it must be designed and planned in advance,' said BraveX Aero CEO Razvan Costea-Barlutiu.

BraveX Aero's current local capacity is up to seven aircraft per month. The company's new hall, scheduled to become fully operational in August, is dedicated to composite-airframe production and allows a clear separation of this flow from the mechatronics, integration and testing area.

According to the release, the strategy is being developed at a time when the European Union is accelerating investment in expanding defence-industrial capacity through instruments such as the SAFE (Security Action for Europe) programme.
