Romanian military awarded EU medal for Common Security and Defence Policy
Romanian servicemen participating in Operation EUFOR Althea in Bosnia and Herzegovina have been awarded the European Union medal for the Common Security and Defence Policy, in recognition of their dedication in supporting local authorities.
'For the mission carried out as part of the Operation EUFOR Althea, our colleagues were rewarded with the European Union medal for the Common Security and Defence Policy. The ‘Medal Parade' ceremony took place at the EUFOR Headquarters in Camp Butmir, Sarajevo,' a post published on Wednesday on the Ministry of National Defence's Facebook page states.
The medal, bearing the Latin motto 'Pro Pacem Unum' ('United for Peace'), symbolises the collective effort of the nations contributing to Operation EUFOR Althea, the same source notes.
'Our servicemen were rewarded for their dedication in supporting local authorities, actively contributing to regional stability. The success of their mission reaffirms Romania's status as a reliable partner within the European Union, with Romanian troops once again demonstrating a high level of training and professionalism,' the Ministry of National Defence added.
