Helleniq Renewables Romania buys two large-scale renewable energy projects in Romania
Helleniq Renewables Romania has acquired two large-scale renewable energy projects in Romania, confirming thus the company's strategic commitment to our country's energy market.
According to a press release sent by the company to AGERPRES on Monday, Helleniq Renewables Romania has acquired from established local developers a 96 MW RTB wind project in Galati County, whose construction will begin soon and commissioning is expected in 2027, as well as a 186 MW wind farm with a 186 MW/186 MWh BESS Ready-to-Build (RTB) hybrid project in Vaslui County.
'Helleniq Energy's growing presence in the country proves the company's strong confidence in the Romanian market and reflects its ambition to play an active role in Romania's energy transition, bringing international expertise, technological innovation and long-term value creation to the local economy,' the press release said.
These new investments further strengthen the company's presence in the renewable energy and renewable energy sources (RES) market in Romania, adding to an existing portfolio that includes 211 MW of photovoltaic projects under construction and a substantial number of projects under development.

The new acquisitions in Romania are part of a broader 6 GW renewable energy development portfolio, which also includes Greece, Cyprus, the Republic of North Macedonia and Bulgaria, and is aligned with Helleniq Energy's goal of reaching an installed capacity of 2 GW by 2030.
