PresidentialElection2025/Nicusor Dan: USR won't support me financially, only maybe through loans from some members

Presidential candidate Nicusor Dan on Saturday stated that USR (Save Romania Union) will not support him financially 'in any way,' but only through possible individual loans from some party members.
He claimed that up to now he has not received donations from USR members for the campaign, 'but there will probably be some, which will be made in the respective members' own name.'
Nicusor Dan indicated that USR supports him in the presidential race 'as do PMP (People's Movement Party), Forta Dreptei (The Right Force) (...) and citizens and parties that support us.'
'The only person who will pay for this campaign is me,' stated the presidential candidate.
Referring to the withdrawal by USR of its support as a party for candidate Elena Lasconi (this party's chairwoman), Nicusor Dan believes that 'the important thing is that at this moment the options have been clarified.'
The presidential candidate detailed that there is thus a 'clarity of the parties in this electoral campaign' between 'a direction that is Russia' whose exponents would be Victor Ponta and George Simion, a direction 'in which we do not change anything,' where he mentioned Crin Antonescu, and 'a direction of change,' represented by him.
'I am very optimistic that Romanians will discern what is important,' said Nicusor Dan. AGERPRES (RO - writing by: Oana Ghita, EN - writing by: Cristina Zaharia)
