Nicusor Dan, at PMP Congress: A battle follows that we are obliged to win

Independent presidential candidate Nicusor Dan said on Saturday, at the Congress of the People's Movement Party (PMP), that in the coming period there is a battle which must be won and thanked PMP members for being 'on the right side of history.'
'A battle follows that we are obliged to win. On the one hand, because Romanians sent a clear message in the last elections that things cannot continue as they have so far, and we must convince people that the alternative is certainly not Russia, and that we must remain in NATO, remain in the European Union, and we must structurally change things that have gone wrong in our country. And I believe that this is a much more important stake because the world is changing very quickly before our eyes these days, and Romania must bring all its competencies into the emerging global competition; there will be no more gifts, and Romania must be there,' said Nicusor Dan.
PMP delegates voiced at the Congress their support for Nicusor Dan's candidacy in the May presidential election.
'I am very optimistic that we can change the direction in which Romania is heading. Thank you for this vote of confidence, I want to thank you for all the cooperation we have had over the recent years (...). I also want to thank you for being on the right side of history. In politics, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, but the important thing is to move in the right direction,' added Nicusor Dan.
