National Theatre of Chisinau artists to perform in Iasi on Romanian Principalities' Union Day
Artists from the National Theatre of Chisinau will return to Iasi, on the occasion of the Day of the Union of the Romanian Principalities, to bring two exceptional performances to the stage of the 'Vasile Alecsandri' National Theatre.
The Iasi National Theatre announced on Monday that it will mark the 166th anniversary of the Union of the Romanian Principalities with a new event organised within the 'ReUniuni Teatrale' (Theatre ReUnions) project, the tenth edition of the Bucharest - Iasi - Chisinau Romanian Theatre Union Through Art Tour.
'On this occasion, 'Mihai Eminescu' National Theatre from Chisinau returns to the Grand Hall stage with two of its most recent and appreciated performances: 'Chirita in concert la Chisinau,' scheduled for January 24 at 19:00, and 'Gradina de sticla,' on the following evening, also at 19:00,' informs the Iasi National Theatre in a press release.
According to the document, 'Chirita in concert,' a musical performance by Ada Milea, with a script inspired by the works of Vasile Alecsandri and Matei Millo, is the latest project of the National Theatre of Chisinau, which premiered on December 14, 2024. The text and music are signed by Ada Milea and Anca Hanu, with the set designs by Iurie Matei, and the general director of TNME is Petru Hadarca.
'Gradina de sticla,' based on the novel by Tatiana Tibuleac and directed by Petru Hadarca, premiered on September 12, 2024, at the Romanian National Theatres Reunion in Chisinau. The novel 'Gradina de sticla' (The Glass Garden) was awarded the European Union Prize for Literature in 2019.
