Romanian Army Day/ Military and religious ceremonies in the country and abroad
Several military ceremonies will be organised on Wednesday to celebrate Romania's Army Day.
According to the Ministry of National Defense (MApN), Romanian Army Day will be celebrated through a series of events organised in the main garrisons in the country, in military bases in theatres of operations where Romanian soldiers are deployed, as well as in states where Romania has accredited defence attachés and in the capitals of states where our country has permanent representations.
In Bucharest, a wreath-laying military and religious ceremony will be held at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Carol I Park. On this occasion, there will also be a military oath-taking ceremony by first-year students of the Military Technical Academy of Bucharest and Carol I National Defence University, followed by a changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and flight activities of Romanian Air Force aircraft.
A military and religious ceremony will also take place at the Monument of the Nation's Heroes of the Second World War, in front of the Carol I National Defence University.
On Wednesday evening, from 19:00, the torchlight retreat will take place along the route from the Palace of the National Military Circle - Calea Victoriei - Bd. Regina Elisabeta - Bd. Mihail Kogalniceanu - Splaiul Independentei - Bd. Eroilor Sanitari - Professor Doctor Gheorghe Marinescu Street - Cotroceni Road - Bd. Iuliu Maniu - Bd. General Paul Teodorescu - Bd. Timisoara - headquarters of the 30th Honor Guard and Protocol Regiment Mihai Viteazul.
According to MApN, ceremonies will be organised in the country as well.
