The "100, 1000, 1,000,000 Stories" International Children's Theatre Festival will take place from October 7 to 14 at the Ion Creanga Theatre.

"Between October 7 and 14, Bucharest belongs to children: 12 theatres and invited troupes from Italy, Finland, Spain, Belgium and Romania meet on the occasion of the most interactive and creative children's theatre festival in the country. The "100, 1000, 1,000,000 Stories" International Children's Theatre Festival (FITC #15) continues the tradition of quality performance and brings performances aimed at families and young audiences, from a few months to over 12 years old," announces the theatre institution.

The theme of this year's edition of the festival, organised by Ion Creanga Theatre since 2005, is "Multimedia Technologies in Performances for Children," and will be reflected both in the selected performances and in the demonstration classes and workshops held by professionals in the field.

"Throughout the eight days of the festival, children will watch fascinated, sing, dance, imitate, wonder, question and find answers - they will experience with excitement what is happening on stage. Moreover, at FITC #15, the experience reaches new dimensions, the show becomes immersive by including specific elements of multimedia technology - 3D projections, augmented reality, VR cameras, stop motion cameras, motion capture costumes. The themed workshops in the Festival programme also respond to the challenges of today's society - from one day to the next, technology is making huge strides and our role is to understand it and adapt it to our needs. To this end, we will have robotics, 3D printing and VR workshops for the little ones," the source said.

With 30 performances, the productions invited to the 15th edition belong to theatres and companies from Italy (La Baracca - Testoni Ragazzi, Bologna), Finland (Auraco Dance Company, Helsinki), Spain (Imaginart, Sabadell; LaBu Theatre, Breda; Roseland Musical, Barcelona), Belgium (La Guimbarde Theatre, Charleroi) and Romania (Ion Creanga Theatre, Bucharest; Tandarica Theatre, Bucharest; Opera Comica pentru Copii, Bucharest; Acting Dream Theater, Bucharest; Teatrul Tineretului, Piatra Neamt; Teatrul de Copii si Tineret "Gulliver," Galati).

The programme is complemented by a series of related events addressed to professionals in the field of performing arts for children, for which the festival proposes a movement workshop, coordinated by Anna Ros and Andreu Sans (LaBu Theatre, Spain), and one dedicated to educators and teachers, held by Andra Burca (La Baracca - Testoni Ragazzi, Bologna).

There will also be workshops for children - "Urban Dance" a movement workshop by Hector Puigdomenech (Imaginart, Spain) and "Shadows. Sound. Dance," an interactive workshop by Amel Felloussia and Elisabeth Mouzon (La Guimbarde Theatre, Belgium).

The International Children's Theatre Festival is organised in the framework of the European project Mapping - A Map on the aesthetics of performing arts for early years.
