ICI Bucharest and AGERPRES broaden 'AI Application - Agerpres News' to regional level
The National Institute for Research and Development in Informatics ICI Bucharest and the AGERPRES National News Agency, in partnership with the Ministry of Research, Innovation, and Digitization, will launch, on Tuesday, the second phase of the project "AI Application - Agerpres News," marking the transition from the national news stream to the regional one.
In this phase, the project involves partnerships with the counties of Bistrita-Nasaud, Dambovita, and Prahova, expanding the use of artificial intelligence to ensure quality journalism tailored to the needs of the local audience.
"The transition to the regional news stream represents a significant step in our mission to support local and regional press. By integrating AI technology, we provide journalists with a tool that not only validates information but also facilitates its dissemination to a diverse, increasingly demanding audience, including digital natives," ICI Bucharest Director General Adrian-Victor Vevera is quoted as saying in a press release sent to AGERPRES.
In turn, AGERPRES Director General Claudia-Victoria Nicolae mentioned that "the application is not just a working tool but a bridge between traditional and modern journalism, using technology to meet the needs of today's audience." "Regionalising the news stream helps us better address the local audience, respecting the specificity of each community," said the AGERPRES director general.
"The AI Application - Agerpres News" uses artificial intelligence to deliver quality news, and by integrating blockchain technology and non-fungible tokens (NFTs), the project aims to guarantee the authenticity and provenance of information, promoting quality journalism and protecting the public from the risks of disinformation.
The launch event underscores the importance of integrating emerging technologies into the regional media space. The application continues to use artificial intelligence to analyse, summarise, and distribute validated information, providing essential solutions for filtering disinformation and strengthening public trust in journalism.
ICI Bucharest and AGERPRES call on all media institutions and local authorities to join the project. Through active participation, organisations can benefit from real-time news validation, access to a secure information stream, and the latest technologies used to combat disinformation.
