Transylvania Open organizers buy license, WTA tournament to be permanently organized in Cluj-Napoca
Transylvania Open organizers announced, on Monday, in a press release sent to AGERPRES, that they bought the WTA 250 license from the owner of the Palermo Ladies Open, so that the tennis tournament will be permanently organized from now on in Cluj-Napoca.
For the past four years, the Transylvania Open WTA 250 has been organized by renting the license.
"Transylvania Open has so far had three editions organized in October, and this year's, in February. The next edition will be organized on February 1-9, 2025," the press release reads.
The Transylvania Open is part of the WTA 250 tournament category, which was introduced in 2021 with the new WTA classification.
