As many as 106 deaths - 63 men and 43 women - in patients infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus, have been reported in the last 24 hours, including 18 deaths prior to the reference interval, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) announced on Sunday.

The deceased persons were admitted in hospitals in the counties of Alba, Arad, Arges, Bacau, Bihor, Bistrita-Nasaud, Braila, Brasov, Buzau, Caras-Severin, Cluj, Dolj, Giurgiu, Gorj, Maramures, Mehedinti, Mures, Neamt, Olt, Prahova, Salaj, Satu Mare, Sibiu, Timis, Valcea, Vaslui and the Bucharest municipality.

The 18 casualties that occurred prior to the reference interval were registered in the counties of Bacau, Bihor, Giurgiu, Neamt, during the months of October and November.

Among the 106 casualties, five were recorded for the 40-49 age category, 16 in the 50-59 age category, 29 in the 60-69 category, 39 in the 70-79 age category and 17 people who were over 80 years old.

According to the GCS, 102 of the registered deaths are in patient who presented comorbidities, one did not present comorbidities and for three deceased patients there were no comorbidities reported until now.

Of the total of 106 deceased patients, 96 were unvaccinated and 10 were vaccinated. The 10 patients that were vaccinated had ages between 40-49 years and over 80. Nine of the vaccinated patients that died presented comorbidities, and for one patient there were no comorbidities reported.
