Cotroceni consultations/National minorities group: We asked President Dan to postpone the nomination
The parliamentary group representing national minorities on Thursday asked President Nicusor Dan to postpone the nomination of a prime minister.
'We are not in a good situation at all. In three or four months, nothing has changed, or almost nothing, and at present there is no clear majority. We asked President Dan to postpone the nomination. I hope he will do so. I hope that within a week or two things can change under the pressure of reality, because for a very long time they have been far removed from reality, being driven more by the wishes of one leader or another and not at all by the problems we are facing, which are very serious and concern the day-to-day lives of each and every one of us,' the group's leader, Varujan Pambuccian, said after consultations at Cotroceni Palace.
He also said that there was no parliamentary majority and that the process could not move forward.
'The key lies in having a parliamentary majority. There is no such majority, so we cannot move forward,' Pambuccian added. AGERPRES (RO - writing by: Alina Novaceanu; EN - writing by: Adina Panaitescu)
