Code Yellow heatwave warnings for counties in Crisana, Banat, Transylvania, Oltenia on Wednesday and Thursday

The National Meteorological Administration (ANM) issued new Code Yellow heatwave warnings, in force on Wednesday and Thursday in several areas of Crisana, Banat, Transylvania and Oltenia.

According to meteorologists, the first Code Yellow warning will be in force on Wednesday, between 12:00 and 18:00, in Banat, Crisana, Maramures, western Transylvania and south-western Oltenia, where temperatures will be particularly high, with isolated heatwave conditions. Maximum temperatures will range between 30 and 35 degrees Celsius, with the highest values recorded in the Western Plain.

The counties covered by the warning are Satu Mare, Maramures, Salaj, Bihor, Arad, Cluj, Alba, Hunedoara, Timis, Caras-Severin, Mehedinti and Dolj.

A Code Yellow warning for particularly high temperatures will also be in force on Thursday, between 12:00 and 18:00, in counties in southern Banat, south-western Oltenia and southern Transylvania. Maximum temperatures will range between 30 and 34 degrees Celsius.

The second Code Yellow warning will cover the counties of Alba, Sibiu, Hunedoara, Caras-Severin, Mehedinti and Dolj. AGERPRES (RO - writing by: Daniel Badea; EN - writing by: Rodica State)
