President Nicusor Dan attended on Tuesday the Paris ceremony marking the National Day of France, saying that in the centennial year of the French-Romanian Treaty of Friendship, the Strategic Partnership and the privileged friendship between Romania and France are reaffirmed, underpinned by extensive political, economic and security cooperation.

'It was a great pleasure for me to join today the France National Day ceremonies in Paris, at the invitation of President Emmanuel Macron. In the centennial year of the French-Romanian Treaty of Friendship, we thus reaffirm the Strategic Partnership and the privileged friendship between Romania and France, based on a deep political, economic and security cooperation. I am glad and proud that the troops of the 30th 'Mihai Viteazul' Guards Brigade took part, alongside their French comrades and those from many other allied and partner countries, in the parade on the Champs-Élysées. It is yet another proof of the French-Romanian friendship and of our allied solidarity,' the head of state wrote on Facebook.

France celebrated on Tuesday Bastille Day with a military parade that was also attended by President Nicusor Dan.

A ceremonial detachment of the 30th 'Mihai Viteazul' Guards Brigade represented Romania this year at the parade.

The detachment was headed by Major Valentin Stan, deputy commander of the 2nd Ceremonial, Military Honours and Intervention Battalion of the 30th 'Mihai Viteazul' Guards Brigade.

The last time the brigade took part in the Paris military parade was in 2022.
