Echoes after 51st edition of International Musical Holidays Festival closes in Piatra-Neamt
The 51st edition of the International Musical Holidays Festival in Piatra-Neamt, held from 5-11 July 2026, once again confirmed the value and important place the event holds in Romania's cultural life.
The manager of the 'Carmen Saeculare' Centre for Culture and Arts, the event organiser, underscored that the large audiences attending every evening, together with the appreciation expressed by artists and invited specialists, reflect the prestige the festival has gained after more than five decades of existence.
'For us, one of the most important confirmations remains the fact that, year after year, renowned musicians express their desire to return to the festival stage or to be part of its artistic programme for the first time. This constant interest speaks about the place the festival has earned in Romania's cultural landscape,' Manager of the 'Carmen Saeculare' Centre for Culture and Arts Daniela David said in a press release on Monday.
In his turn, Neamt County Council President Daniel Vasilica Harpa praised the high standard of this edition of the festival.
'There were evenings dedicated to music and encounters between outstanding artists and an audience that appreciates cultural performances. 'Musical Holidays' is a festival that represents us and carries forward an important tradition for our county. I congratulate the artists, organisers, partners and everyone who contributed to the success of this edition. The Neamt County Council will continue to support culture and events that bring value and prestige to the Neamt county,' Daniel Vasilica Harpa conveyed, according to the quoted source.
The opening concert was performed on the Princely Court square by the 'Mihai Jora' Philharmonic Orchestra of Bacau, featuring soprano Adina Vilichi and baritone William Hernandez as soloists.
Throughout the festival, concerts were also performed by the Cluj Tango Orchestra, the Philharmonic Orchestras of Brasov and Sibiu, the 'Anton Pann' Early Music Chamber Ensemble and the Metropolitan Orchestra of Iasi, featuring Irina Baiant as soloist.
The guest of honour of this edition was Holograf band.
The International Musical Holidays Festival in Piatra-Neamt was organised by the 'Carmen Saeculare' Centre for Culture and Arts, with funding from the Neamt County Council and support from the Piatra-Neamt City Hall.
The next major event organised by the 'Carmen Saeculare' Centre for Culture and Arts will be the 'Ceahlau' International Folklore Festival.
The 27th edition of the festival will take place from 6-9 August. AGERPRES (RO - writing by: Gabriel Apetrii; EN - writing by: Rodica State)
