Bolojan: PNL has decided not to support investiture of Tomac government

Imagine din galeria Agerpres

The National Liberal Party (PNL) decided not to support the investiture of the government proposed by Prime Minister-designate Eugen Tomac, party leader Ilie Bolojan announced on Thursday.

'Having analysed the political context, the PNL has decided not to support the investiture of this government. As a consequence of this decision, our parliamentary groups will either not participate in the voting or will register as 'Present, not voting'. Why did we make this decision? First of all, because given the current situation, with a government that lacks explicit political support and therefore explicit parliamentary backing, this government does not have the authority to continue the reforms that Romania needs and, consequently, it is not a viable governing solution at this time,' Bolojan explained after the extended meeting of the party's National Political Bureau.
