PM Bolojan: Until the last day in this office, I will work for Romania's interests
Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan said on Wednesday that, until his last day in office, he will work for Romania's interests and will not abandon his principles, mentioning that during his 10-month term he sought to implement a different model of governance.
'Dear Romanians, it has been an honour for me to serve our country for 10 months as Prime Minister. I have done everything in my power to bring order to Romania's finance, correct injustices and promote reforms for the modernisation of Romania. Most importantly, I have shown that a different way of governing is possible. Thank you, dear Romanians, for bearing the shortcomings involved in putting the country's finance back on track. They were not an end in themselves or a choice, but a price for reconstruction and future prosperity,' Bolojan wrote in a Facebook post.
He thanked those he worked with during this period: 'I thank those with whom I collaborated in teamwork over these 10 months for a different model of governance. I met many people of quality, from the most modest roles to the highest positions. Together we have shown that it is possible to govern with rules, without wasting public money and without arrogance. After 10 months, the inevitable happened. When you challenge privileges and give insight, the reactions are accordingly strong.'
The Liberal leader underlined that all the support he received, especially in the past month, motivates him to continue fighting for Romania.
'Until the last day in this office, I will work for Romania's interests and I will not abandon the principles I have upheld throughout my career. All the support I have received, especially in the past month, motivates me to carry on, to continue fighting for Romania and its future. One stage is ending, another is beginning; the values I stand for remain the same and it is essential that I feel you by my side. Thank you, Romania!,' Bolojan stressed.
