PresidentialElection2025/AEP: 19.54% voter turnout by 12:00 at noon

By 12:00 PM, on Sunday, 3,515,524 voters cast their ballots in the first round of the presidential election, representing 19.54% of the total number of registered voters, according to real-time data provided by the Permanent Electoral Authority (AEP).
In urban areas, 2,214,048 voters turned out to vote, while in rural areas, 1,301,476 voters cast their ballots.
21,591 voters used the mobile ballot box to vote.
Out of the 3,515,524 voters who voted by 12:00 PM, 3,012,569 voted in Romania (16.75%), while 502,955 voted abroad, of whom 498,849 voted on the supplementary lists and 4,106 voted by mail. Voting in the diaspora started on Friday (local time, 7:00 AM) and ends on Sunday at 9:00 PM (Romanian time).
The highest voter turnout was recorded in the following counties:
Ilfov - 22.53% of the total registered voters;
Arges - 20.92%;
Olt - 20.43%;
Giurgiu - 20.03%;
Teleorman - 19.89%;
Constanta - 19.81%.
Lower voter participation was seen in the following counties:
Satu Mare - 11.33% of the total registered voters;
Vaslui - 12.23%;
Covasna - 12.36%;
Bistrita-Nasaud - 12.70%;
Maramures - 12.91%.
In Bucharest, the voter turnout was 16.78%, with the following turnout according to sectors:
Sector 1 - 18.98%;
Sector 2 - 17.50%;
Sector 3 - 13.93%;
Sector 4 - 17.45%;
Sector 5 - 15.72%;
Sector 6 - 18.84%.
