Two Romanian films selected at 48th edition of Gothenburg Film Festival
Bucharest, Jan 24 /Agerpres/ - Two Romanian films have been selected at the 48th edition of the Gothenburg Film Festival, the most important event of its kind in Scandinavia, scheduled between January 24 and February 2: 'Three Kilometers to the End of the World' (premiere in Sweden), directed by Emanuel Parvu, in the International Competition of the festival, and 'The New Year That Never Came' (premiere in Scandinavia), directed by Bogdan Muresanu, in the Voyage section.
ICR Stockholm is also this year's partner, supporting the participation in the festival of directors Emanuel Parvu and Bogdan Muresanu, alongside producer Miruna Berescu, announced a press release of the institution.
The film 'Three Kilometers to the End of the World', in the International Competition of the festival, was also Romania's entry for the 2025 Academy Awards for the Best International Feature Film category. The film's team was invited to the Gothenburg festival, from January 29-31, to participate in discussions with the Swedish public and press. The film will have three screenings at the movie theaters Capitol (January 29), Aftonstjarnan (January 30) and Biopalatset (January 31).
'The New Year That Never Came' will have four screenings during the festival, at the Biopalatset cinema (January 26, January 28, February 1) and the Bio Roy cinema (January 27). The film's director Bogdan Muresanu will take part in the discussions after the festival screenings from January 26-29, reads the cited source.
