Intervenţia ministrului afacerilor externe Luminiţa Odobescu în cadrul Conferinţei ministeriale privind aspectele umanitare subscrise Formulei de Pace a Preşedintelui Ucrainei, Volodîmîr Zelenski
La 31 octombrie 2024, ministrul afacerilor externe, Luminiţa Odobescu, a avut o intervenţie online în cadrul Conferinţei ministeriale privind aspectele umanitare subscrise Formulei de Pace a Preşedintelui Ucrainei, Volodîmîr Zelenski. Reuniunea, desfăşurată la Montreal în format hibrid, a fost co-organizată de Canada, Ucraina şi Norvegia.
Ca parte a procesului de implementare a deciziilor Summitului privind Pacea în Ucraina, obiectivul Conferinţei ministeriale a fost identificarea de soluţii practice pentru accelerarea demersurilor comunităţii internaţionale în vederea returnării minorilor ucraineni deportaţi în Federaţia Rusă sau în teritoriile temporar ocupate de forţele ruse din Ucraina. De asemenea, agenda discuţiilor a inclus situaţia prizonierilor de război, precum şi încălcările repetate ale drepturilor omului de către forţele armate ruse.
Ministrul afacerilor externe, Luminiţa Odobescu, a subliniat importanţa tragerii la răspundere a tuturor celor vinovaţi pentru crimele împotriva umanităţii şi crimele de război comise în Ucraina. A arătat că obţinerea dreptăţii pentru victimele agresiunii ruse reprezintă o condiţie obligatorie a oricăror demersuri pentru o pace durabilă în Ucraina. A deplâns faptul că printre victimele agresiunii ruse se numără numeroşi minori şi a făcut apel la continuarea sprijinului internaţional pentru aceştia.
De asemenea, şefa diplomaţiei române a insistat pe fundamentarea oricăror iniţiative privind pacea în Ucraina pe Carta ONU, valorile ordinii internaţionale bazate pe reguli şi dreptul internaţional. A explicat că propunerile care nu îndeplinesc aceste criterii nu reprezintă opţiuni constructive şi oneste pentru obţinerea unei păci durabile.

Dear friends of Ukraine,
Let me start by expressing Romania's gratitude towards Canada, Norway, and Ukraine, for co-hosting this timely meeting.
One thing is clear - the Peace Formula of President Zelenski remains the only viable option for a comprehensive, just, and lasting peace in Ukraine.
The International Coalition of Countries for the Return of Ukrainian Children stands as clear example of what the international community can achieve, working under the Peace Formula.
And today we have made good progress towards a framework that would ensure protection for Ukrainian children and the safe return of those deported to Russian territory.
Distinguished participants,
When dealing with topics such as those discussed today, we must return to a very basic concept: the sacred nature of human life and dignity.
We all read, or saw the continuous horrors of Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine. Children's stories are the most painful ones.
For all those who need a reminder of what the Russian aggression has inflicted on the Ukrainian people, I invite you to check the Children of War platform.
The Platform provides chilling and tragic stories of Ukrainian children:
The story of Vladyslav, a 16 years old boy from Melitopol, taken prisoner by Russian forces, where he witnessed torture, suicides and crimes.
The story of Sasha, 7 years old from Odesa, who lost both her legs after a Russian missile attack.
The story of Andrii, from Brovary, whose family's car was crushed by a Russian tank, with all of them inside. He managed to get out. But Russian troops then shot the car's gas tank. Andrii believes, to this day, that his mother was still alive in the car.
And there are so many more tragic stories. Each one of them unnecessary and unjust! Each one being a Russian war crime.
The tragic stories of Ukrainian children, of Ukrainian civilians, compel us to demand full accountability for all war crimes and crimes against humanity committed in Ukraine.
This is the only way to achieve peace. And with our support, this is exactly what Ukraine will achieve.
Dear friends,
While we are working on developing the Ukrainian Peace Formula, others are falsely calling themselves the Friends of Peace.
But how can you call yourself a friend of peace while forgetting about the UN Charter?
Or about the territorial integrity of states?
Or about the many tragedies provoked by Russian forces in Ukraine?
How can we forget about Vladyslav, Sasha, Andrii and all the Ukrainian children?
All friends of Ukraine are friends of peace.
Friends of just peace, not of imposed peace!
Friends of the UN Charter, not of power politics!
And as we see today, like we have seen with every single occasion, Ukraine has many friends.
With such good friends and with the well-known Ukrainian resilience, Ukraine will achieve peace. And will receive justice.
